博士生及其直系亲属申请的是居民签证 (享受national health care，即通俗的免费医疗)，生活满五年可申请欧洲永居。
该职位博士生主要从事以软件工程.人因工程和人工智能等理论为基础的新型故障预防研究。

PhD student scholarship in Computer Science, The University of Coimbra, Portugal
The University of Coimbra has a scholarship available for supporting a PhD student′s first year, including the tuition and 1170 Euros/month*12 salary. The candidate will join the Software and Systems Engineering group at Centre for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra (CISUC), advised by Dr. Fuqun Huang (https://www.cisuc.uc.pt/en/people/f-huang) and co-advised by Professor Henrique Madeira (https://www.cisuc.uc.pt/en/people/henrique-madeira). The candidate can choose an interesting interdisciplinary topic that involves software engineering, human factors and Artificial Intelligence to pursue PhD. The highly qualified advisers will help the candidate to obtain a full fellowship from the National Foundation for Science and Technology for supporting the rest of his/her PhD study, with a high success rate.  The candidate also has the opportunity to apply for the Dual-PhD degrees from UC and Carnegie Mellon University.

The University of Coimbra (UC) is a public higher education institution founded in 1290, and usually ranks top 3 nationally in Portugal. UC was classified as World Heritage by the UNESCO in 2013 and it holds several UNESCO chairs. Regarding education, UC offers 36 undergraduate degrees, 120 master degrees and 69 doctorates. The Centre for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra (CISUC) is one of the leading Portuguese research centres in the area of Computer Science and Information Technologies. CISUC is composed of about 150 researchers, and has obtained the maximum grade (excellent) in the evaluation by the National Foundation for Science and Technology.

The post is expected to start between September 2022 to June 2023. Those who have already obtained (or expected to obtain it by early 2023) in computer science or closely related disciplines are encouraged to apply. No English nor Portuguese tests are required, but upon the judge of the hiring committee, the candidate is expected to reach English level at C1 (advanced level) in Cambridge English.
