The PhD advisor is Dr. Qian Lou. Dr. Lou focuses on improving the efficiency, privacy, and security of deep learning on both computer vison and natural language processing tasks by designing novel algorithms, models, and systems. Dr. Lou recently puts efforts into the following two topics: • Trustworthy deep learning [NeurIPS'19, NeurIPS'20a, NeurIPS'20b, NeurIPS'20c, CCS PPMLP'20, ICLR'21, ICML'21, EMNLP'21, DATE'22]. • Efficient deep learning [CAL'18, ICCAD'18, DATE'19, DATE'20, ICLR'20, ICLR'21, IJCAI'21, ASP-DAC'20, PACT'20 best paper nomination, ICLR'22a, ICLR'22b, CVPR'22]. UCF is located in Orlando nicknamed "the City Beautiful", which is one of the most-visited cities in the world primarily driven by tourism. UCF is an innovative, diversified institution with national distinction in a range of academic fields and earned the very high research (R1) designation by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. UCF is ranked #51 overall for Computer Science in US according to CSRankings: Computer Science Rankings and is ranked #69 according to US News.
