Postdoctoral Scientist招聘
Postdoctoral Scientist Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Scientist in the group of Professor Anne Osbourn in the Department of Metabolic Biology to investigate the mechanisms of formation and regulation of operon-like gene clusters in plants. The successful candidate will join a team working on plant-derived natural products – ecological function, synthesis, and mechanisms underpinning metabolic diversification. Further details of this project and the laboratory can be found at http://www.jic.ac.uk/STAFF/anne-osbourn/index.htm. Essential skills required are experience in evolutionary genetics, genome analysis, bioinformatics and/or genetic/epigenetic regulation of gene expression. Experience in working with plants is not essential and applications from those working outside the plant field (for example on yeast, filamentous fungi, or animal systems) are also encouraged. An interest in synthetic biology is also desirable but not essential. The post holder will investigate mechanisms of formation and/or the regulation of operon-like metabolic gene clusters in cereals and in Arabidopsis (depending on expertise). The John Innes Centre is a world-class Institute and is looking to appoint an exceptional candidate who has, or expects to soon receive a PhD in evolutionary genetics, genomics, plant biology, molecular biology or a related discipline. We will be providing the job-holder with opportunities to develop their technical and transferable skills during this assignment, by way of training programmes, coaching and mentoring. The appointment will be as a Postdoctoral Scientist and the salary will be within the range £26,610 to £29,566 dependent upon qualifications and experience. Further details of eligibility and reward package are available from http://www.jic.ac.uk/corporate/o ... Scheme_overview.doc For further information and details of how to apply, please visit our web site http://jobs.jic.ac.uk or contact Human Resources, The Operations Centre, Norwich Bioscience Institutes, Norwich, NR4 7UH, UK, 01603 450462 quoting reference 1001854. The closing date for applications will be 30th September 2009. The John Innes Centre is a registered charity (No. 223852) grant-aided by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council and is an Equal Opportunities Employer. |
