Research Fellow Position in 2D Device Position Description: A research fellow position is available at the Surface and Interface Lab (Dr. CHEN WEI’s group), National University of Singapore. Prof. Chen Wei’s group is looking for one high-caliber Research Fellow with expertise/interest in 2D materials based devices: device fabrication and related electrical and optoelectrical characterization for memory and neuromorphic computing application. The selected candidate will work together with a team comprising experts in MBE growth and STM characterization, device fabrication and related electrical and optoelectrical characterization, and surface reaction mechanism study using home-made interface characterization tools. Position Requirements: PhD in Physics, Microelectronics, Material, or related fields Strong background in semiconductor device physics and/or related applications Substantial experience and experimental skills in 2D materials based device fabrication and related characterization Collaborative spirit and excellent English writing and verbal communication skills High motivation to solve scientific and practical/instrumental challenges Preferred Qualifications: Research background in 2D device fabrication/characterization, or memory and neuromorphic computing area Recruitment package: 1-year contract, which can be further renewed subject to fund avalibility Salary of 60,000-75,000 S$/year subject to the candidate experience With medical insurance and an annual performance bonus Position is available from June 2022 onwards Application Deadline: 31st March 2022 Interested candidates should send your detailed CV to Prof. Chen Wei (chmcw@nus.edu.sg) with “Research Fellow Position in 2D Device” in the subject heading. Professor CHEN Wei is currently a Professor in both Chemistry Department and Physics Department at NUS. His current research interests include atomic scale interface engineering for molecular, organic electronics and 2D-materials based devices, as well as interface controlled nanocatalysis. Dr. Chen is a recipient of NUS Young Investigator Award (2010), Singapore Young Scientist Award (2012), NUS Dean’s Chair Professor (2016), NUS Faculty of Science Outstanding Scientist Award (2019) and Mitsui Chemicals-SNIC Industry Award (2020). He has also published more than 330 papers on high-impact peer-reviewed journals in these topics and received over 20,000 citations with H-index of 74, and selected as 2018, 2019, 2021 Highly Cited Researchers (by Clarivate).
