| GNPs as a filler for epoxy nanocomposites were synthesized via electrochemically oxidizing route. The as-prepared GNPs containing certain functional groups with crystalline structure of graphite partially remained could be exfoliated and well dispersed into the epoxy matrix with the aid of ultrasonic processing technique. The well dispersed GNPs have improved the thermal stability for epoxy, and the synergistic effects of reinforcing and toughening of GNPs on epoxy have also been observed. This work presented here probably paves the way for preparing stronger epoxy based nanocomposites with a new kind of graphite nanoparticles for use as advanced materials in the application world. |
