Hydrogen has been considered one of the best potential alternative energy carriers because of its high energy density, environment friendliness, and renewability. Safe and efficient hydrogen storage and release of hydrogen are regarded as the key challenge when it comes to large-scale applications of hydrogen energy. Chemical hydrogen storage materials, i.e., organic chemical hydrides, inorganic chemical hydrides, etc., with high hydrogen contents, which store hydrogen in the form of chemical bonds, are highly promising as hydrogen sources for fuel cells. The production of hydrogen through different catalytic processes, e.g., traditional catalysis, electrocatalysis, photocatalysis, and photo-electrocatalysis, has received intensive attention. Most such processes are driven by various catalysts. Thus, the development of economic and highly efficient catalysts is particularly important. This Special Issue on “Chemical Technologies for Hydrogen Storage and Production” aims to curate novel advances in the nanocatalyst design, synthesis, and application in hydrogen storage and production. Topics include but are not limited to: • Hydrogen production from chemical hydrides; • Traditional catalytic hydrogen production; • Electrocatalytic hydrogen production; • Photocatalytic hydrogen production; • Photo-electrocatalytic hydrogen |
