post-doctoral position: « retention of radionuclides on clay rocks in presence of mixed organic plumes. » des-service détude du comportement des radionucléides, paris-saclay university, cea, f-91191 gif-sur-yvette. the fate of chemicals in the environment is of importance in many industrial fields: soil, water, remediation, etc. in the context of waste management, significant researches focus on migration in natural media. the french radioactive waste management agency (andra) supports such investigations on clay rocks for geological disposals, which is the purpose of the present offer. recent studies from our laboratory deal with radionuclides retention, for example within near field perturbations of disposal [1]. complementary developments were made to quantify migration of organic compounds [2,3]. andra recently pointed out some lacks of experimental data on specific conditions. the proposed work will focus on these specific elements, e.g. ni(ii), am(iii), in presence of mixed organic plumes (e.g. tributylphosphate with or without edta, etc.). among the points of interest, the work will assess synergistic effects between organic compounds and perturbations induced on the media. the potential implications on radionuclides speciation and retention will be assessed by both experimental and modelling tools. the post-doc is hosted in the french alternative energies and atomic energy commission (cea), which is affiliated to paris-saclay university. the work will be performed in the physcial chemistry department from the energy division.
