[交流] 美国新泽西州立大学招2022秋季入学原子物理实验方向博士生

PhD Student Position in Experimental Atomic Physics
The Wu Lab (https://sasn.rutgers.edu/about-us/faculty-staff/xuejian-wu) in the Department of Physics at Rutgers University-Newark invites applications to undertake a PhD project that will develop a cold-atom interferometer for inertial sensing. The group focuses on advancing quantum sensing techniques for metrology, navigation, and geophysics applications. We are starting a new experiment to build scalable atom interferometers in an ultra-compact geometry. We will use specially-designed mirrors, similar to diamond-shape, to create multiple cold atom interferometers with a single laser beam. This method will dramatically simplify the complexity of building multiple atom interferometers. With multiple signal outputs, this quantum sensor can simultaneously measure acceleration and its high-order derivatives. We will use it for gravity cartography and inertial navigation.
We are an enthusiastic team and offer exciting research projects in internationally recognized areas with opportunities of collaborating with scientists in geophysics and engineering departments. Highly motivated candidates with solid education backgrounds in physics, optics, or electrical engineering are encouraged to apply.
Rutgers–Newark is one of three regional campuses of Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey. Newark is a diverse city within 20 minutes to New York City by rail.

Financial Support
PhD students are financially supported through graduate research assistantships or teaching assistantships. The support package includes a stipend, health benefits, and tuition.
