There should be a significantly larger computational component. The authors obtain a sufficient condition. Is it necessary? How often is it necessary? How many primitive elements are there when this condition is met? If these results cannot be proved, what do simulations suggest for the appropriate conjectures? Gather a good amount of data and use it to make some general conjectures to supplement the cases proved.
