Dr. Huiwang Ai’s laboratory at the University of Virginia (https://med.virginia.edu/ai-lab/) uses interdisciplinary approaches in chemistry, engineering, biophysics, and physiology to study and manipulate complex biological systems, with a focus on the development of novel molecular biosensors to peer into cells and organisms to understand biosignaling and communications. We invite applications for a postdoctoral research position, and the successful candidate is expected to carry out research to develop or apply genetically encoded imaging tools. The position is particularly for someone with solid training in synthetic chemistry (including medicinal chemistry or chemical biology). Strong candidates with other expertise (e.g., protein engineering, neurobiology etc.) are also welcome to apply.
