Editorial Reviews Review 5 star review for the 16th Edition: Essential Tool for Any Working Chemist. Very few refrences works these days seem indispensable or can be easily found online. However Lange's Handbook is the essential tool for any working chemist. The one-volume source of factual information for chemists, both professionals and students. The first place in which to look it up on the spot. The aim is to provide sufficient data to satisfy all one's general needs without recourse to other reference sources. A user will find this volume of value as a time-saver because of the many tables of numerical data that have been especially compiled.--P. Speight earned his D.Sc. and PhD degrees from the University of Manchester in England. He also holds a DSC in the Geological Sciences and a PhD in Petroleum Engineering. Dr. Speight is the author and co-author of more than 60 books, databases, conference proceedings, and scientific papers in petroleum science, petroleum engineering, and environmental sciences. Formerly the CEO of the Western Research Institute (and now an independent consultant), he has served as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Chemical and Fuels Engineering at the University of Utah and in the Departments of Chemistry and Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Wyoming. Dr. Speight was elected to the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1996 and awarded the Gold Medal of Honor that same year for outstanding contributions to the field of petroleum sciences. He has also received the Scientists without Borders Medal of Honor of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 2001, the Academy also awarded Dr. Speight the Einstein Medal for outstanding contributions and service in the field of Geological Sciences. About the Author Dr. James G.
