The Editors-in-Chief, Gabor Somorjai and Sir John Meurig Thomas, choose that theme and appoint Guest Editors to put together an issue devoted to it. In addition to issues on topical themes reflecting the trends of the current research in catalysis, issues are published on the subejcts of international symposia, the foci of national meetings, and as festschrifts for eminent catalysis scientists.
