The Engineering Department at the University of Cambridge invites applications for a fully-funded PhD position in deep learning / data-driven methods for multi-scale material systems, under the supervision of Dr. Burigede Liu (https://www.eng.cam.ac.uk/profiles/bl377). A fully funded PhD studentship is available which covers the university fees and in addition, a stipend of ￡14,830 per annum for 3 years, with no nationality restrictions. We are looking for highly motivated and talented candidates with bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Civil and Material Engineering, or related fields. Applicants should have (or expect to obtain by the start date) at least a good 2.1 degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Computer Science. A strong background in solid mechanics, applied mathematics or computer science is a plus. To apply for this studentship, please send your CV to Dr Burigede Liu (BL377@cam.ac.uk).
