Prof Qing Li Biographical details
Professor Qing Li earned his Ph.D. degree from the University of Sydney (Australia) in 2000. He received postdoc training from Cornell University (USA) 2000 - 2001. He was an Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellow in the School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering, at the University of Sydney. Professor Qing Li published over 300 articles in leading international journals and is a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher. He was a Chair of the 11th World Congress on Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimisation (WCSMO-11) in 2015, and a Secretary in General of the 9th World Congress on Computational Mechanics (WCCM2010) and 4th Asian-Pacific Congress on Computational Mechanics (APCOM-4) in 2010. He is serving as a Review Editor of ¡°Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimisation¡± as well as editorial panel in ¡°International Journal of Mechancis Science¡±, ¡°Biofabrication¡± and ¡°PLoS One¡±. He is a Vice-President of International Society of Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimisation (ISSMO), a member of General Council of International Association for Computational Mechanics (IACM). He was a recipient of APACM Computational Mechanics award (2016).


Research areas:
Professor Li¡¯s research interests span a wide range of disciplines relevant to computational mechanics and optimisation, such as aerospace, biomedical, automotive, mechanical, manufacturing, structural and materials engineering. His recent research has focused on some emerging issues in micro/nano-structured lightweight materials, crashworthiness, biofabrication, biomechanics, scaffold tissue engineering and biomaterials, where computational modelling and design optimisation can play a critical role and are of significant implications.
