Dr. Dechen Lin’s lab is at UCLA School of Medicine, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, USA. The Lin lab focuses on upper GI cancers including esophageal and gastric cancers. Over the years, the Lin lab has gathered valuable research experience and data for upper GI cancer study. For example, we are among the first in the world to demonstrate the genomic landscape of esophageal cancer (Nat Genet 2014). As a pioneer in the field, we delineated for the first time the clonal evolution of this cancer (Nat Genet 2016; Genome Research 2018). Moreover, our recent work identified epigenomic de-regulation for this malignancy (Gut 2017; Gut 2018; Gut 2020; Nature Communications 2018; Nature Communications 2021a; Nature Communications 2021b; Gastroenterology 2017; Gastroenterology 2018; Gastroenterology 2020). His lab also develops bioinformatic methods for cancer genome/epigenome analyses (NAR 2020; Bioinformatics 2018; Bioinformatics 2019). The Lin lab aims to develop faithful in vivo and in vitro models to characterize upper GI cancer for better understanding of its biology as well as its vulnerability. We are further integrating advanced computational methodologies and cutting-edge genomic tools to strengthen these models. Who are interested in GI cancer research and have earned a PhD degree in molecular or cell biology. We are looking for postdoc candidates who have experience in either one of the following fields: immunology, animal modeling, epigenomics and gene regulation.
    Successful candidates will lead projects, from designing projects, conducting experiments, performing analyses, producing manuscripts. We encourage postdocs to compete for fellowships funding and grants whenever possible. The Cedars-Sinai Postdoctoral Scientist Training Program provides valuable educational resources, a number of workshops as well as grant-writing programs. More importantly, Cedars-Sinai GI program ranks #2 nationwide, a truly national leader with excellent environment for GI research and training !
