2022 multiple Ph.D. positions at the Hong Kong Polytechnic Univ. Dr. Ruoyu You

Dr. Ruoyu You, an Assistant Professor from Department of Building Environment and Energy Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, is recruiting full-time Ph.D. students for the following research fields: 1. Airflow distribution and contaminant transport in enclosed environments 2. Development and application of advanced measurement technologies for indoor air quality 3. Urban air quality modelling and key emission sources identification 4. Localised comfort hubs design in urban areas 5. Fast fluid dynamics computing engine development and application in urban micro-environments All the research fields require experimental measurements and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling. Expected start date: Spring/Fall, 2022 for Ph.D. students and Fall 2021 for RAs. Candidates with Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy and Power Engineering, Building Science, or other related areas are preferred. The Ph.D. students will be funded with full studentship. English requirements: An overall score of at least 6.5 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); OR A Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 80 or above for the Internet-based test. She received her Ph.D. degree from the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University in 2018. Dr. You joined the Department of Building Environment and Energy Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as an Assistant Professor in September, 2018. Her research interests include air quality in enclosed environments, computational fluid dynamics, contaminant transport, and laser-based sensors for indoor air quality.
