Postdoctoral fellow in neuroscience and stem cell biology, Houston, TX, United States We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to study neurotrauma and stem cell biology in the Department of Neurosurgery, and Center for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine at the University of Texas McGovern Medical School at Houston. Our laboratories combines interdisciplinary approaches including neuroscience, stem cell biology, genomics and bioinformatics to address fundamental questions in neural cell fate and neural injuries/regeneration. We provide training opportunities in cutting edge technologies. We are pursuing basic and translational research in neural repair and regenerative medicine (https://jiaqianwulab.org/). Qualified candidates preferably have: background/experience in neuroscience or stem cell biology experimental skills in molecular biology, cell cultures and histology/microscope experiences in mouse models are preferred. Demonstrated proficiency as evidenced by relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals and is interested in acquiring new skills. The candidate will have the opportunity to pursue highly collaborative projects with significant translational impact, alongside with clinicians. Our labs are located in the beautiful new facility of the Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine in the Texas Medical Center. Texas Medical Center is one of largest medical complex in the world and provides access to the more than 40 member institutions, including two medical schools, four schools of nursing and 13 renowned hospitals. Many scientific and educational opportunities are available in the metropolitan area of Houston as well as cultural, entertainment and sports activities.
