数值模拟-人工智能博士生奖学金（美国Rutgers University)

Applications are invited for a Ph.D. student position in the hydro-informatics research lab of Dr. Roger Wang at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Rutgers University (https://www.whirl-lab.com). The research group focuses on coastal flooding and engineering, offshore wind and tidal energy, and cybersecurity in weather and flooding forecast. We are aiming to develop and apply big data, artificial intelligence, and data-driven analysis for coastal and environmental problems. The Ph.D. candidates will have opportunities to learn and develop novel data-driven analysis and modeling of coastal and hydro-environmental problems. The potential research projects will also involve data fusion and data assimilation of the emerging satellite data, Internet of Things, and remote sensing data. Examples can be found at the research group's YouTube channel: https://lnkd.in/gxXFmN2 A master's or bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or related fields is required. Priority will be given to candidates with a background in fluid mechanics, hydrology, numerical modeling, data science, and uncertainty quantification. Programming skills in Python, C++, or MATLAB are essential. Motivated applicants with strong communication skills, especially experience in scientific writing and presentation are encouraged. Since the pandemic and visa issues, candidates already in the US are preferred. The position will be open until filled. The student is expected to start in fall 2021 or spring 2022.
