Faculty Positions of Musculoskeletal Biomechanics- Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai, China) Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) invites highly-qualified candidates to fill the tenure-track faculty positions in the School of Biomedical Engineering (BME). We seek candidates with exceptional academic records or demonstrated strong potentials in musculoskeletal biomechanics research areas. Internationalized and overseas academic training or background is highly appreciated. SJTU was founded in Shanghai, China, in 1896, with the goal of cultivating talented professionals for the nation. Today, SJTU is one of the world's top 100 universities, and also ranked in the top 0.1% in Essential Science Indicators (ESI) in 7 research fields, including Engineering (top 0.01%), Materials Science, Chemistry, Clinical Medicine, Computer Science, Pharmacology & Toxicology, and Biology & Biochemistry. SJTU established the Discipline of Biomedical Engineering (BME) in 1979, which was one of the first universities in China to establish the Discipline of BME. Since the foundation, the faculty and staff of BME have made significant progress in research, education, and development. It has constantly been a leading BME program in China: The Discipline is a Key Discipline of the Nation, which has been ranked in the top three in all of the three national evaluations since 2002. Qualified candidates must also possess a strong academic record and demonstrate potentials. Meanwhile, duties include teaching courses in biomedical engineering or other related courses as assigned by the School of BME and contributing to the research activity of the department. Candidates must have an earned PhD in BME or a closely related field and a minimum relevant research experience of 3 years. Compensation and Benefits: Salary and startup funds are highly competitive, commensurate with experience and academic accomplishment. All regular SJTU faculty members will join its new tenure track system in accordance with international practice for progress evaluation and promotion.
