关于国外论文要版面费的问题

Charges, Payments, Gratis Copies — There is a page charge to authors based on article length, to a maximum of $500. An invoice with the exact amount will be issued after the article has been sent to NACE Headquarters for final editing. In general, two and one-half typed, double-spaced pages are equivalent to one printed page, and six single-column figures equals one printed page. If authors elect to use color figures or artwork, there will be an additional charge to cover the addedcost of color publication. This fee typically is between $500 and $1,000. No fees are due until after a manuscript has been accepted for publication. For more information or to request a waiver of page charges, contact the CORROSION Managing Editor or visit NACE International home page on the Internet at http://www.nace.org. 这是美国那个corrosion(不是corrosion science)杂志Author’s Guide上的一段话，从这段话上看，即使没有彩图，杂志社也要版面费。那么： 1.“For more information or to request a waiver of page charges, contact the CORROSION Managing Editor or visit NACE International home page on the Internet at http://www.nace.org. ”这句话的意思是不是可以申请免去版面费呀？ 2. 如果可以申请免去版面费,那么杂志社一般会同意吗？是杂志社申完稿录用了再申请呢还是投稿前申请呢？ |
