Two Post-Doctoral Research Associate Positions Are Available in Environmental Nanotechnology King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) (http://www.kaust.edu.sa) is an international, graduate-level research university supported by a multi-billion dollar endowment. With sufficient research funding, highly competitive and merit-based compensation scheme and university leadership’s vision and commitment to make KAUST one of the world's greatest academic institutions, KAUST has attracted a large group of leading scholars to join it. Furthermore, through a Global Research Partnership, KAUST has built up deep and meaningful partnerships with the world's most premier institutions (e.g., Stanford University, The University of Oxford, UC Berkeley, Cornell University) and biggest companies (e.g., IBM, Boeing, Dow Chemical Company), which provide KAUST researchers ample opportunities to work with the world's most leading scientists and to commercialize their research projects. The aforementioned unrivaled resources available to KAUST researchers offer unprecedented opportunities for young scientists to build up their career at KAUST. Two post-doctoral research associates are now being recruited in broad areas of environmental nanotechnology and the specific project opportunities will depend on the interests and experience of the applicants. However, previous research experiences in one or more of the following areas are highly valued: (1) development of novel nanomaterials for environmental treatment (e.g., adsorption, catalysis); (2) nanosensor development for environmental detection; (3) immobilization of enzyme or bacteria for environmental applications; (4) surface nanopatterning for inhibiting biofilm formation. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in material sciences, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or related fields. Successful candidates are expected to have a good publication record, previous experiences with nanomaterial synthesis, ability to work in a team, and a good command of oral and written English. The potential start date is flexible and the appointment will be initially for one year and may be renewed up to 3 years pending research progress. 这个地方我也听过。去年到中国有招生，听说给硕士生的条件已经是十分优厚了：学费，书本费全免, 免住宿费，每人每年报销往返飞机票，之外给每人发一个笔记本电脑。之外特别吸引人的地方是每月还有工资，据说比美国博士还要高。一句话：有錢。我有个师弟今年就去了哪里读小硕。 他们的老师都是从美国过去的。我查了一下今年学生比例，只有20%是当地人，另外的80%是从世界65个国家过去的。 我想楼上说的博士后的年薪是十万美元吧！这才是他们吸引人的地方。大把大把的撒MONEY啊！ 还有谁知道这个地方？出来讨论讨论!!! 俺想去！！！ |
