一, What the scheme offers?
The Scholarship Scheme offers the following to selected candidates with outstanding academic performance (obtained a minimum CGPA of 3.5 out of 4.0 or equivalent), and obtained a Ph.D. admission offer from a top-50 overseas university for 2021-22:
❖ An award of a total of HK$80,000
HK$40,000 in the first year and
HK$20,000 each in the second and third years of study subject to satisfactory study progress; and
❖ Studentships of HK$216,300 per annum within the normative study period.

二, Application Condition
If you were being offered a PhD place in top overseas universities but have to change your study plan due to the recent pandemic or travel restriction, CUHK offers a Vice-Chancellor's PhD Scholarship Scheme for you to realise your study goal!

三, Application Procedures
Interested students please:
❖ submit an application via the Graduate School’s Online Application System https://www.gradsch.cuhk.edu.hk/OnlineApp/login_email.aspx, indicating your intention to apply for the CUHK Vice-Chancellor’s PhD Scholarship Scheme; Applicants are required to upload copies of academic transcripts, valid English Language proficiency test score report and other supporting documents, and a copy of the offer letter from the top overseas university; OR
❖ email your CV and a copy of the offer letter from the top overseas university to our Department bmepgadm@cuhk.edu.hk.
