Special Issue Editors Dr. Weibo Hua Website Guest Editor School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, Shaanxi 710049, China Interests: in situ synchrotron radiation-based characterization techniques; inorganic synthesis; phase transition; crystal growth; Li/Na/K-ion batteries; solid-state reaction Dr. Mingzhe Chen Website Guest Editor Australian Institute for Innovative Materials, Institute for Superconducting and Electronic Materials, University of Wollongong, Innovation Campus, Squires Way, North Wollongong, NSW 2522, Australia Interests: in situ synchrotron radiation-based characterization techniques; material synthesis; high-energy cathodes, solid-state electrolytes Special Issue Information One of the greatest challenges facing energy systems is solving the sophisticated problem of decreasing carbon emissions while meeting increasing energy requirements. Accordingly, the trend of global energy generation is shifting to sustainable energy while predominantly reducing the portion of fossil fuels. Furthermore, electrical energy devices could enable hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and electric vehicles (EVs) to dominate the transport part, and, thus, contribute to deep decarbonization. Over the past two decades, Li/Na/K-ion batteries have been proven to be the most powerful technology to achieve high energy and high power demands. As a consequence, the alkali-ion batteries took the largest share (around 70%) of whole electricity storage technologies. With the rapid growth of global renewable energy, the enormous market potential of electric vehicles, and large-scale energy storage systems is encouraging the Li/Na/K-ion battery technologies to advance a great deal in the foreseeable future. It is my pleasure to invite researchers to contribute to the Special Issue on ¡°Li/Na/K-Ion Batteries¡±, which is an interdisciplinary subject including broad aspects of science, technology, and the application of Li/Na/K-ion batteries. The potential topics include, but are not limited to the following: Battery design and manufacture Battery evaluation and testing Battery fatigue Electrode materials Electrolyte Materials synthesis In situ characterization Dr. Weibo Hua Dr. Mingzhe Chen Guest Editors Manuscript Submission Information Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Crystals is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI. Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
