交钱论文作期刊封面意义大不？

今天收到一期刊来的email，之前的一篇论文被接收，将刊登在9月份的期刊上。编辑部问我是否愿意交纳一定的费用后作该期期刊的封面（交多少钱目前还不清楚，可能有想法后下一步联系会告知费用。好像编辑部是同时给几篇论文的作者发信了，最后进行选择）。和大伙交流一下作杂志封面意义大不。 编辑部来信附上： Dear Dr ××× Paper Ref.: B××××××× Title: ×××××××××××××××××××× Your paper referred to above is preliminarily scheduled to appear in the September issue of Green Chemistry. You may be interested to know that it is possible for authors of the highest-quality work to have their work featured on a cover of Green Chemistry. As your article was very well received by the reviewers and the editorial office, I would therefore like to invite you to submit some eye-catching artwork for consideration for the cover of the issue in which your article will appear. Please note that if your artwork is chosen you will be asked to make a contribution towards the production costs. If chosen for the cover, we will also promote your article and increase its visibility in a number of ways: Your article will be made free to access to all for 6 weeks Your cover will be featured in the contents pages of the journal online and in print Your cover will be attached to all .pdfs of the article; anyone downloading your article will therefore see it Your cover will be featured in the journal gallery You will also receive: A free print copy of the issue which features your cover Several high-quality prints of the cover A PDF of your article which includes the cover An electronic copy of the finished image to use in presentations or display on your desk top If you would like to submit some artwork for consideration then please let me know by return email and I will provide further guidelines to help you prepare your image. Both the outside and inside covers of the journal are available for highlighting the highest-quality work. Please provide any suggestions for cover images by Friday 14th of August. Please note that at this stage I am unable to guarantee that any cover image you provide will be used, as a few authors have been approached. I look forward to hearing from you.
