Prof. Huiwang Ai¡¯s laboratory (https://med.virginia.edu/ai-lab/) at the University of Virginia uses interdisciplinary approaches in chemical biology, protein engineering, fluorescence and bioluminescence imaging, and electrophysiology to study and manipulate complex biological systems, with a focus on the development of novel molecular biosensors to peer into cells and organisms to understand communications. We invite applications for a potential postdoctoral or research scientist position from candidates with expertise in animal (mouse) work. In particular, we hope to identify candidates with strong interests in integration of molecular tool development with biological questions in neurobiology, islet biology, or insulin signaling. Preferred skills are: mouse surgery, intracranial injection, tumor model, animal behavior, optogenetics, or in vivo imaging. Our lab is well funded and equipped, publishes in reputable journals, and has an intellectually vigorous and collaborative research environment. The PI supports every lab member¡¯s career development. Please refer to our lab webpage (see the link above) for more details. To apply, please send a cover letter (including a short statement of research interest and how you fit our research program), CV (including a publication list), and contact information for three references to Dr. Ai (huiwang.ai@virginia.edu). |
