Light-matter interactions in X-ray scintillators @ NTU Singapore

We are seeking a highly-driven, talented and creative Research Fellow to join us in our efforts to develop experiments and theoretical studies on light-matter interactions and scintillation in exotic materials, such as van der Waals heterostructures. Efforts will also be devoted to the quantitative study of the scintillation response of given materials to the variation of three different confinements, radiations, converted electrons, and photons. Our group explores novel phenomena and groundbreaking applications arising from light-matter interactions. We aim to develop concepts and technologies for next-generation light sources and detectors based on new electron-photon interaction phenomena. We are based at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. We are looking for applicants with the following attributes: • Internationally recognized Doctoral degree in applied physics, materials chemistry, optical physics, or strongly related fields • Proven track record of excellence in high energy radiation characterizations with more specialties in understanding the setups (X-ray (e.g. XRD or XPS) or fast electron (e.g. SEM or TEM)). • Experience and knowledge in nanofabrication are preferred; Strong publication track record is an advantage. • Self-motivated, highly independent, and able to perform under stress. • Works well individually as well as in a team • Eager to learn new things and passionate about research For more details of our research, visit our • Group website: https://sites.g@@gle.com/view/ljwgroup • LinkedIn: https://sg.linkedin.com/in/liang-jie-wong-795860193 Interested parties should contact Prof. Liang Jie Wong at email address liangjie.wong (at) ntu (dot) edu (dot) sg with CV, full academic transcripts and the contact details of 3 references.
