August 2021: A funded PhD position in modeling fluid flows A funded PhD student position is available in Department of Petroleum Engineering at Texas Tech University. The research will be focused on numerical modeling of single and multiphase flows in porous media. Expected starting time: • August 2021. Preferred qualifications: • Self-motivated with independent thinking ability; • Students who have the research experience in modeling single or multiphase flows in any of the following fields will be considered: CO2 sequestration, hydrology, oil and gas recovery, or porous materials; • Familiar with developing numerical algorithms using any one of the numerical methods: diffusive interface method, phase field method, volume of fluid method, level set method, spectral method, or Galerkin method; • Experience in programming in C++, Fortran, or Python. • English with GRE and IELTS (or TOEFL) scores; Students who are interested in the position please send your CV, transcripts, and English test scores to Dr. Qingwang Yuan as soon as possible.
