犹他大学Multiple PhD positions starting in 2021

We are looking for candidates to join the Utah Waves and Architected Materials Group (https://w.mech.utah.edu/openning/). We have fully funded openings for students. Applicants with track record / experience / expertise / strong passion in ANY ONE of the following technical fields are especially valued: · - Finite element simulations · - Vibrations and waves · - Frontiers in condensed matter physics, including band structure, topological invariant, magic angle, multi-body topological order, spin-orbit coupling, etc. · - Engineering applications of machine learning techniques · - Quantum algorithms and their applications Reserach work will be focused on computational studies using either commercial simulation platforms or open-source software packages. Tasks and responsibilities include data extraction, management and visualization as well. Minimum requirements Solid knowledge of numerical methods and linear algebra; AND High proficiency in: either (1) any finite element software or (2) other numerical simulation techniques. |
