The Electronic Materials Devices and Systems group at the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano, is looking for a highly motivated candidate with a strong background in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Material Science for a Post-Doc position. In particular, the candidate must have a Ph.D. (or being close to the completion of a Ph.D) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science or a related field with experience in the design, fabrication and characterization of thin-film electronics. The candidate will work in a joint-project between the University of Bolzano and ETH Zurich (Switzerland). As such this position is ideal to establish international collaborations and to publish high quality research. The successful candidate will work, as part of an international team, on a cutting-edge project to develop thin-film electronics on soft polymeric substrates, using different structuring techniques (shadow masking, UV photolithography), deposition tools (e-beam and thermal evaporator, ALD, sputtering) and a broad set of materials with different properties (electrical conductivity, biocompatibility, etc.). The experimental wok will be performed in newly established state-of-the-art thin-film processing laboratories. The aim is to establish reliable fabrication protocols and transfer process for the implementation of different electronic devices, such as sensors, transistors, logic and analog circuits on microstructures and soft composite substrates. Aptitudes in both experimental design and theoretical modeling are desirable. Experience in micro- and nanotechnology, as well as vacuum-based technologies will be considered a plus. Excellent presentation together with interpersonal skills and writing abilities will be highly valued. Salary: 28.500 ? (gross/year) Duration: 3 years Starting date: January 2021 Language: English Work Experience: Research activity in universities and research centers, proved by innovative and original publications in the design, fabrication and characterization of electronic devices.
