Postdoctoral Research Associates positions at the University of Connecticut

The Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Institute of Materials Science (IMS) at the University of Connecticut (UConn) are seeking to hire multiple Postdoctoral Research Associates. The project will be carried out at the University of Connecticut under Prof. Zhang’s supervision. The research focus in Prof. Zhang’s group (one Postdoc and four graduate students) is in the emerging area of flexible electronics, soft microfluidics, and electronic neural interfaces. The Postdoc candidate should have the research experience or background in one of the following research areas: • Biosensors • Flexible electronics • Biophotonics or photometry systems • Neuroelectronic interfaces; implantable neural probes • Circuits design and wireless power supply and data communication • Nucleic acid detection or CRISPR technology Start date: Available immediately, open until filled. About Dr. Zhang: Dr. Yi Zhang is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Connecticut. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology and did his postdoc with Prof. John A. Rogers at Northwestern University. He was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Missouri. His current research group focuses on in soft materials, electronic neural interfaces, and wearable molecular sensors for disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. His recent work has been published on PNAS, Science Advances, Nature Communications, and Lab on a Chip. About UConn: The University of Connecticut (UConn) is a public research university in Storrs, Connecticut. The primary campus is in Storrs, Connecticut, approximately a half hour's drive from Hartford and 90 minutes from Boston. It is a flagship university that is ranked as tied for the best public national university in New England and is tied for 24th in "top public schools" and tied for 64th best national university in the 2020 U.S. The university is classified among "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity". |
