AP/Postdoc positions available in Prof. M Yang's group at BMS in CityU of HK

introduction research assistant professor and postdoctoral fellow positions are available in the prof. michael yang’s group at department of biomedical sciences in city university of hong kong. prof. yang is currently yeung kin-man chair professor of biomedical sciences in city university of hong kong, and the director of the biotech and health centre of city university shenzhen research institute. prof. yang has published over 280 peer-reviewed scientific papers and received 23 usa/china patents. he has delivered more than 100 invited lectures in international conferences and universities and trained 33 phd and mphil graduates and numerous postdoctoral fellows in his laboratory. he holds honorary professorships in zhejiang university, the third military medical university, and the pla graduate school of medicine, china. professor yang is a panel member of hong kong government’s healthcare and medical research fund, and innovation and technology fund. he has been awarded the chunhui scholar award by the ministry of education in china in 2003, the k. c. wong foundation award in 2004, the shenzhen science and technology innovation award in 2006, the hong kong technological achievement grand award in 2007, the natural science award by the ministry of education in 2015, the wuxi apptech life science and chemistry award in 2016, and the gold medal of geneva international inventions expo. he has co-founded several biotech companies and serves as vice chairman of the hong kong biotech organization, a council member of the division of nanobiotechnology, biosensors and biochips of the asia federation of biotechnology, and a mentor of hong kong x-tech platform. personal website: https://www.cityu.edu.hk/bms/profile/michaelyang.htm research interests 1. cancer precision medicine and tumour microenvironment 2. single cell detection and genetic/genomic analysis 3. microfluidic technology and nucleic acid detection technology position requirements 1. doctoral degree recipients from the domestic and foreign well-known universities or research institutes in fields of molecular diagnostics, single-cell sequencing and bioinformatics. those have strong genome and ngs data analysis skills and experience in development of molecular diagnostic technique are preferred. 2. good english writing and communication skills, teamwork spirit and team organizing ability. 3. capable of independently conducting research project, assisting in the management and guidance of doctoral students' scientific research. application and inquiry if you are interested in the position, please contact prof. yang (bhmyang@cityu.edu.hk) with your cv and representative publications indicating research assistant professor/postdoctoral candidate-school name-name. remuneration package: research assistant professor (annual salary: hk $500,000 - hk $600,000), postdoctoral fellow (annual salary: hk $300,000 - hk $400,000), plus annual leave, medical insurance and mpf scheme. |
