[交流] Postdoc position in ultrafast nano-imaging and cavity nano-optics at CU Boulder

We are seeking highly motivated individual with interest in research in new directions of nano-scale imaging and cavity nano-optics based on novel concepts of optical scanning probe microscopy for imaging, spectroscopy, and control of nano-scale quantum phenomena of single emitter, semiconductor nano-structures, and 2D materials.

This is a joint position between Prof. Markus Raschke at the University of Colorado, Boulder, USA and in cooperation with the Institute of Fundamental and Frontier Sciences (IFFS) at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (Chengdu, China) lead by Prof. Zhiming Wang (https://www.iffs.uestc.edu.cn/index.htm).

Research: The candidate would conduct experimental research in the laboratories of Professor Markus Raschke at the Center for Ultrafast Nano-Optics (nano-optics.colorado.edu) and the Center for Experiments on Quantum Materials (CEQM) in the Department of Physics at the University of Colorado (www.colorado.edu/physics) and JILA (www.jila.colorado.edu) in Boulder, USA. The focus of the work would be on quantum nano-physics based on the spatial localization of light with nanometer precision and femtosecond resolution from spatio-temporal imaging to quantum coherent control of light-matter interaction.

This work is based on our leading expertise in combining scanning probe microscopy with near-field optical spectroscopy to uniquely image the quantum dynamics of elementary excitations in molecular, quantum, and 2D materials with nanometer resolution. This provides for the first time in real time and space insight into the complex many body interactions that define the function of all materials. Further, with the extreme spatial localization of light we recently opened a new field of cavity nano-optics, as a new regime of cavity QED to control quantum coherence and entanglement of single emitter. In the implementation of nano-cavity opto-mechanics with phonons or single vibrational quanta in molecules, applications of quantum state transduction and quantum sensing can be pursued. The candidate is given the opportunity to broadly engage in these and related topics working collaboratively in a vibrant group of postdocs, graduate, and undergraduate students. The project provides for career development for an independent science career as faculty or staff in academia or national laboratory.

Prerequisites: we are seeking a highly motivated, scientifically skilled and creative individual with strong background in one or several areas of optical spectroscopy, laser science, nonlinear and ultrafast optics, cavity optics, molecular or condensed matter physics. Ability to work in a team of faculty, postdoc, and students, and international collaborators is required. The position is initially for a duration of 2 years, with possible extension, depending on performance and available funding.

Salary: A minimum annual base salary of 40,000 US$ is provided, with additional support available depending on level of expertise and research record.

您好,请问有申请链接吗? 我3月份的时候和Markus Raschke教授沟通过几轮,也通过zoom聊过,参加过教授的周一组会。但是不知道教授现在对中国学生还接收么?不知道在没有通航的情况下能等多久呢?谢谢您
