Marie Curie Widening Fellowship Widening Fellowship is a sub-scheme of the EU Marie Curie Individual Fellowship, which intends to encourage the postdoctoral Fellowship applications with the host institution located in Widening countries including Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. To be eligible for the Marie Curie Widening Fellowship, the applicant must choose a host institution in the above-mentioned EU member states. For more information on the Marie Curie widening fellowship, please refer to the following website. https://ec.europa.eu/info/fundin ... eyword=;typeCodes=0,1;statusCodes=31094501,31094502;programCode=null;programDivisionCode=null;focusAreaCode=null;crossCuttingPriori= The application will be evaluated and scored together with all applications submitted under the Marie Curie Individual Fellowships call. In case the applicant’s proposal fails to reach an adequate place in the overall ranking list, the applicant will have an additional opportunity to be funded by the special funds that European Commission allocates to Widening countries, in case his/her score exceeds a threshold. In other words, having the host institution located in the Widening countries, the applicant will have a higher chance to be funded. Portugal is the most successful country in winning Widening Fellowships in the last few years. Specific Eligibility Conditions: The applicants who have expertise in the one of following research directions are encouraged to apply for this fellowship with the host. Please refer to this website (https://inl.int/inl-people/zhongchang-wang/) for more information about the host. (1) Experience in transmission electron microscopy and scanning transmission electron microscopy and spectroscopy; (2) Experience in preparation of 2D materials and nanomaterials using e.g. chemical vapor deposition (CVD), chemical vapor transport (CVT), and molecular beam epitaxy (MBE); (3) Experience in measurement of ferroelectric, magnetic and low-temperature quantum transport properties and corresponding devices, e.g. memory devices (4) Experience in first-principles calculations, especially on multiferroic and quantum electron transport calculations. Working Conditions: INL has a full suite of advanced experimental facilities: a 1000 m2 cleanroom with Class 1000 and Class 100 facilities for device design and fabrication, nanocharacterization equipment such as SEM, TEM, FIB, XRD, SAXS, AFM, XRF, XPS, STM, and property measurement facilities such as SQUID, VSM, four-probe resistivity system, and PL. Especially, it has two state-of-the-art aberration-correction STEM: FEI TITAN Cubed Themis TEM (60‒300 kV) equipped with both probe and image correctors and a super-X EDS detector (which offers an unprecedented opportunity to probe structures with sub-Å resolution) and probe-corrected FEI TITAN G2 80-200 kV ChemiSTEM. It also has several in-situ TEM holders. In addition, computational resources are also available. Interested applicants are recommended to send the CV and related documents to this email (zhongchang.wang@inl.int). The applicant will complete the proposal and submitted it on his/her own before the submission deadline September 09, 2020, through the EU funding and tender portal. |
