[交流] 新加坡国立大学冯元平课题组招收博士后2名

新加坡国立大学物理系/机械工程系招收博士后2名
1) postdoctoral research fellow in machine learning and first-principles modeling
a postdoctoral research fellow position is open immediately in the department of physics, national university of Singapore. successful candidate is expected to work with a team of experimentalists and computational materials scientists. the project is to adapt ai techniques such as deep learning in analysis of materials properties and to accelerate the design of new 2d functional materials, such as thermoelectric materials.
candidates should have a ph.d degree in physics, materials science or a closely related field (awarded or to be awarded soon). he / she must be well versed in the research areas such as high-throughput calculations, deep learning models, and thermoelectric materials. they should also have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and able to guide undergraduate students. successful candidate is expected to perform high-throughput calculations based on density functional theory (dft), database development, and develop deep learning models.
experience in dft-based calculations and deep learning modeling is required. in addition, experiences in matlab, python, fortran, and in study of thermoelectric materials are preferred.
2) postdoctoral research fellow in first-principles modeling of geometrical quantum materials
a postdoctoral research fellow position is open immediately in the department of physics, national university of singapore. successful candidates will work in a large team of experimentalists and theorists in the study of geometrical quantum materials. he/she is expected to perform first-principles calculations to (i) design geometrical quantum materials (ii) to provide theoretical understanding for interesting experimental discoveries, and (iii) to test hypotheses and verify theoretical predictions prior to experimental synthesis.
candidates should have a ph.d degree in physics, materials science or a closely related field (awarded or to be awarded soon), with a good understanding of theories and methods in condensed matter physics. he/she must be well versed in research areas such as topological materials, first-principles calculations based on density functional theory and beyond, and excellent communication skills (in english), both oral and written. experience in collaboration with experimentalists and theorists is highly desirable.

冯元平教授,是亚太材料科学院院士,美国物理学会会士,兼新加坡国立大学先进2d材料中心理论组主任,并担任国际材料联合会(iumrs)执行委员、新加坡材料研究学会副主席等职务,于2013年获新加坡“杨振宁新移民科学技术奖”。长期从事材料物理性质第一性原理计算和材料设计的研究。在新材料遴选与预测以及二维材料数据库的构建等方面,取得显著成果。在包括phys. rev. lett.、pnas、j. am. chem. soc.、adv. mater.、phys. rev. b等多个国际著名学术期刊发表学术论文,论文被引用20000余次,h因子为72,是本领域国际高被引科学家之一。
