海外博士后面试经历_Plasmonics at Chalmers university of technology 已有4人参与

Skype Interview with Dr. Alexandre Dmitriev: 1. I present my research summary; 2. Dmitriev asked me about the nanowire nanophotonic properties; 3. Dmitriev asked my career goal and why I selected Chalmers? I answer I like european research culture and be a professor from theory to products; 4. Dmitriev told me that I can also be a professor in Sweden; 5. Dmitriev asked my idea of the development of plasmonics. I answer to the make plasmonics into practical devices; 6. Dmitriev told me he wanted to use magnetoplasmonics to do high-resolution harddisks; 7. Dmitriev told me he has collaboration with Stanford for dielectric antennas and he wants the postdoc to be self-driven; 8. Dmitriev asked and I replied that I would be available in March; 9. Dmitriev told me the result will be released in eariler February; 10. I asked and Dmitriev replied that the salary is before tax and Sweden was a good place to live. End on 8 Jan 2016. Later Alexandre asked me to have my reference send him recommendation letters. I did but he finally rejected me. I emailed him to ask if it was due to the recommendation letters. He replied that the letters were good but he just considered the diverse techniques for his group. 缘起：我找海外博士后，投过126个简历，有过十几次面试，前后共获得了5个offer。其中印象深刻的是英国大学的两次面试，因为我不是被问教科书知识就是被问到答不出来；还有两次美国大学的华人老板面试，其中一个当场给了oral offer，结果后面email交流offer细节之下发现没有假期和自付保险；还有中美联合项目的面试，是给offer最早的(一般国内的offer肯定是最早到的)，却在内地大学的人事部这个环节上不顺畅。这么多次面试、拒信和offer，我最后的选择是最符合我的能力和兴趣的，所以说这个被筛选和筛选offer的过程，正是对自己的科研能力和兴趣越来越明晰的过程，最终达到一个劳资双方都匹配的状态。回头来看，我是应该感谢那两所英国大学如此严格的面试以及拒信的，否则即便我拿到了他们的offer，我的表现可能很差，最终双输。当然，伴随着这个找博士后过程的是焦虑、恐慌、诱惑，人难以很从容地做决定。但是，我的经验是即使面试当场给了offer、面对当场答应就解脱的诱惑，自己都必须冷静几天考虑一下在平静状态下再做决定。也正因为此，我会将这些博士后面试经历陆续分享出来，希望对其他找海外博士后的虫友有所帮助。 |
