海外博士后面试经历_Raman spectroscopy at University of Strasbourg

Skype interview for the postdoc position of Raman spectroscopy of optoelectronic property of 2D materials with Dr. Stéphane Berciaud and Dr. Pierre Verlot: 1. I presented my research summary and Stephane introduced himself. 2. Stephane asked which parts of the research summary I did myself. 3. Stephane and Verlot described their project details. 4. Stephane asks if I am still interested in the project (Yes) and my research goal. 5. Stephane described the risk, gain, progress and expectation of their project. 6. We discussed the availability time, salary negotiable and working enviroment of the project. 7. Stephane and Verlot said they would make a decesion to my application in December. End on 13 Nov 2015. I emailed to Stephane about my expected salary as 3000 Euro. He replied that that was even higher than the salary of a assistant professor in France. Finally I did not obtain the offer. 缘起：我找海外博士后，投过126个简历，有过十几次面试，前后共获得了5个offer。其中印象深刻的是英国大学的两次面试，因为我不是被问教科书知识就是被问到答不出来；还有两次美国大学的华人老板面试，其中一个当场给了oral offer，结果后面email交流offer细节之下发现没有假期和自付保险；还有中美联合项目的面试，是给offer最早的(一般国内的offer肯定是最早到的)，却在内地大学的人事部这个环节上不顺畅。这么多次面试、拒信和offer，我最后的选择是最符合我的能力和兴趣的，所以说这个被筛选和筛选offer的过程，正是对自己的科研能力和兴趣越来越明晰的过程，最终达到一个劳资双方都匹配的状态。回头来看，我是应该感谢那两所英国大学如此严格的面试以及拒信的，否则即便我拿到了他们的offer，我的表现可能很差，最终双输。当然，伴随着这个找博士后过程的是焦虑、恐慌、诱惑，人难以很从容地做决定。但是，我的经验是即使面试当场给了offer、面对当场答应就解脱的诱惑，自己都必须冷静几天考虑一下在平静状态下再做决定。也正因为此，我会将这些博士后面试经历陆续分享出来，希望对其他找海外博士后的虫友有所帮助。 |
