菜鸟求各位指点-英国留学博士自费 已有1人参与

 本人比较菜，还没水平申请啥博士奖学金目前发表的也只有1篇sci if=1.3，两篇还在写。 本硕四非大学，自己的国内老板联系了一个英国前百垫底的大学，联系了比较久了。 原本想着短期先去学校看看，但疫情就没去了，我直接跟对方老师说想申请他的博士，他的回复如下： Dear XXX Thanks, this is excellent. Could you send me your CV for reference? I do not have funding at the minute but this may change. Do you think it would be possible for you to find funding to come as a visiting student for a year so we could start working together and then transition to a PhD as funding becomes available? This should not introduce a delay for your graduation as in XXX the main criteria for graduation is journal papers as first author so we could work on those while being a visiting student and then use them for your PhD with us once registered. Let me know 然后因为这个我自己自费一下，作为一个visiting student，学费我看了下是1800左右英镑一年，然后生活费我就打算自己来（自己一般一年的私活能拿到的平均在5-6w人民币），父母资助一部分，再和一家公司谈谈资助。按照这样的情况，我告知了对方教授，他回复如下： Dear XXX Sorry, the previous email somehow never arrived. Can you send me the name/email you contacted in admissions so I can follow up? =====然后他CC了另外一个老师，我不认识 Dear AAA XXX is a PhD student form a research collaboration in China. We are interested in him doing a placement with us for 1 year. He will not undertake courses during this period but focus on scientfiic collaborations with us. Can you advise on the fees, if any, for such circumstances? I would appreciate if we can waive the fees in these circumstances. LindaJ and I have been working with X University for some time to develop a exchange program and this would have been covered under those agreements if we had that in place already. 对方导师是一个Chair，从简历上来看文章真的很多，头衔也挺不错。但我比较关心，即便我挺过了这一年的visiting，第二年我还没确定他能不能给我funding，。。哎。。。各位能够谈谈自己的看法。谢谢各位。 |

1800镑学费真心不贵，我们这边非csc资助的自费生学费一年19500多镑。但是如果自费的话，我觉得你应该有很多选择，先多联系下其他老师试试，英国和其他国家不一样，除了本土和欧盟学生，基本都没全奖，中国学生基本csc资助的，因为这样能免学费，导师和全额奖学金资助的不太多。我知道的很多都是自费，所以既然自费你为啥不多联系好点的学校试试呢 发自小木虫Android客户端 |
