博士后职位-超分辨成像显微镜在癌症研究的应用

Postdoctoral Associate Position in Super-resolution Imaging at University of Pittsburgh A postdoctoral associate position is available in Biomedical Optical Imaging Laboratory in the Departments of Medicine and Bioengineering at University of Pittsburgh, which is one of the nation's top ranked schools in biomedical research. We look for an innovative and highly motivated individual to work on development and application of high-throughput super-resolution imaging techniques (primarily single molecule localization microscopy) and low-cost optical devices to improve cancer detection (working with patients’ samples). We also have a project to develop advanced microscopic imaging techniques and image processing methods for 3D live-cell imaging to understand pathophysiology of cancer. The candidate is expected to independently conduct research, publish scientific findings in prestigious journals and deliver verbal technical presentations in international conferences. The candidate will have a unique great opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team that encompasses expertise in bioengineering, electrical engineering, cancer biology, pathology, and oncology at University of Pittsburgh, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and other top medical centers around the country. Outstanding individuals will also have the opportunity to advance to research faculty positions in the future. Qualifications: The qualified candidate should have a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, optics, biophysics or a related field. The candidate must be self-motivated with a strong passion for research. A strong background in optical imaging techniques, quantitative image analysis and programming skills (e.g., Matlab, Python) are required. The expertise in at least one of the following areas is required: optical microscopy, image processing, super-resolution imaging and biophysics. Hands-on experience on using or developing super-resolution microscopy and fluorescence staining, or hardware programming is highly desirable. We will also consider biologists with sufficient background to quickly learn technical aspects of high-resolution imaging (such as programming and quantitative analysis).
