   氮化硼纳米管(BNNT)和碳纳米管(CNT)结构很相似,其B、N原子均以sp2杂化态形成类似石墨的六边形平面网状结构,每个B或N原子提供一个p轨道形成共轭π键,每个BN单元贡献两个在平面结构运转的π电子,故BNNT也表现出超强力学性能,高的导电、导热等特征,根据BNNT层数的不同,BNNT也可分为单壁管和多壁管结构。与CNT相比,BNNT在改善复合材料的高温力学性能、热稳定性、抗氧化性等方面具有不可比拟的优势,使其制备的超强复合材料和具有优异导电性能的陶瓷复合材料等可以在高温及其它恶劣的环境下工作,可广泛应用在冶金、化工、航天、机械等领域,比CNT有更广泛的应用前景。目前,有关氮化硼(BN) 纳米管的电子结构等方面的研究已经展开[7-11]。但是有关氮化硼(BN) 纳米管的力学特性的报道却很少。Won Ha Moon 等[12]采用分子动力学方法对(5 ,5) 型单壁BN 纳米管的压缩特性进行过简单研究,沈海军[13 ]对单壁BN 纳米管与纳米豆荚的拉伸和压缩特性进行过比较。

Won Ha Moon, etc. [12] using molecular dynamics method (5, 5)-type single-walled BN nanotubes have the compression characteristics of a simple study, Shen Navy [13] on single-walled BN nanotubes and nano-pod tensile and compression comparative characteristics.

The structure of Boron nitride nanotubes (BNNT) is similar as that of carbon nanotubes (CNT).Their B and N atoms are both sp2 hybrid-state to form  the hexagonal graphite-like planar network structure . Each B or N atoms can provide a p-track to form π-bond, so every BN unit contribute two π electronics that are functional on the plain.As a result,BNNT also reveals super mechanic quality and exellent cnductive property of electricity and heat.BNNT can be divided into single-walled tubes and multi-walled tube structure.Comparing to CNT,BNNT owns great advantage in improving the mechanical properties under high temperature, thermal stability, oxidation resistance, etc. Composite materials prepared with BNNT can work well under high tempertature and other bad enviroment.And they can be extensively used in metallurgical, chemical, aerospace, machinery and other fields,in which CNT is not able to be used.Now,researches on the structure of BN nano-tube's electronic has started.However,reports of its mechanic property are scare. Won Ha Moon.etc adopt molecular-dynamic method to make simple study on the compression characteristic of (5,5)-sigle-walled BN nano-tube.Shen Haijun has compared the tensile and compression characteristics of single-walled BN nano-tube and nano-pod.

The structure of BNNT was similar to CNT. Hexagonal planar net structure just like graphite was formed when B, N atoms showed sp2 hybridized orbital, where each B or N atom provided a p orbit to develop conjugate π-bond. Two running π electronics on plane stemmed from each BN unit so that BNNT performed super mechanics merits and high conductivity, conductive heating, etc. In terms of different BNNT layers, it can be divided into single-walled tube and multi-walled tube structure. Compared with CNT, BNNT possesses overwhelming advantages such as improvement to mechanical properties at high temperature, thermal stability, resisted-oxidation, etc., in composite materials. BNNT technology, applied to prepare super composite materials and ceramic composite materials with great conductive properties, can be subjected to high temperature and other abominable environment, and it can be widely used in metallurgical, chemical, aerospace, machinery and other fields. It has prospects in application than CNT. At present, study about electronic structure of BN nano-tube electronic has been carried out [7-11]. However, mechanical properties of BN nano-tube are seldom found. A trial on compression characteristics of (5, 5)-type single-walled BN nano-tube was completed by Won Ha Moon, etc., [12], using molecular dynamics method, while Shen haijun [13] taken single-walled BN nano-tube and nano-pod tensile to compare their stretch and compression characteristics.
