Spherical pellet shape also makes a positive contribution during the drying process which functions due to the differential partial pressure of the water vapor between the pellets and the drying gas. Because of the spherical pellet shape the exit path from the pellet for residues and residual moisture is similar in all directions, with the result that the extraction and drying process is achieved much more quickly and consistently.Furthermore, the contact area between the spherical pellets during discharge is limited to point contacts, this results in a significantly larger surface area being exposed to the extracting water and drying gas. At the same time the pressure loss during the pellet discharge is reduced. For the end user there are also practical advantages offered by spherical pellets. It has been found that the inherent improved flow characteristics of spherical pellets result in improved dispensing performance. The flow of the pellets into the extruder is more consistent and the behavior during melting is also better.

我把pellet翻译成球形颗粒不知道是否专业,楼主斟酌吧,呵呵
