About NTU

About NEWRI
Since its inception in 2008, NTU's Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute (NEWRI) have consistently been ranked amongst the world's top water research centres. It performs inter-disciplinary research with aims of translation into industrial and community development.

We are inviting suitable individuals with the suitable qualifications to join our team as a RA/RF.

    Job Description

•       Development of novel biological processes for wastewater treatment
•       Initiation and operation of lab- and pilot-scale bioreactors
•       Development and optimization of system operating protocol
•       Planning, monitoring, and performing experiment and sample analysis
•       Dissemination of projects, including publishing in peer reviewed scientific journals and popular science publications and presentations.
•       Participate in the writing of relevant research proposals for the application of funds
•       Communication with collaborators from industry, government, etc.

    Job Requirements

•       The candidate should possess Master (for RA) or PhD Degree (for RF) from a recognised university in Environmental Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering and related fields.
•       Preferably with about 1 years of relevant research experience and/or industrial background.
•       Knowledge and experience in one of the following would be an advantage: biological nitrogen removal, MBR, electrodialysis reversal and RO operation.
•       Team player with self-motivation and able to work independently.
•       Strong interests in applied research and development work.
•       Strong cross-sectoral national and international network.
•       Excellent written and spoken English.
•       Good communication skills.

The position is initially for a one-year period with a possibility for extension based on funding circumstances.
