In recent years, apoptosis has turned out to be hotspot studying within fields of life science and medical research. This study shows several normal methods to measure programmed cell death such as morphology of apoptosis, biochemistry molecular biology, enzymology, immunology, flow cytometry, etc., and brief survey for merits and limitations of these methods. When detection is selected for apoptosis, it is necessary to utterly understand principles and wide range of applications, combined with the purpose of experiment and experimental conditions, in order to obtain accurate and reliable results.
