Several PhD scholarships are Available at Civil and Infrastructure Engineering Discipline of the School of Engineering at RMIT University
• Direct application through RMIT: PhD scholarship of a net stipend of up to $30,000 per year plus full tuition fee subsidy of $35,520 per year for three years. You may apply for an extension of up to six months subject to satisfactory progress and school approval
Other university incentives for PhD student:
First author (or joint first author) in a SCOPUS-indexed journal paper award:
• top 10% of journals in your Field of Research will receive $1000
• top 11%-25% of journals in your Field of Research will receive $750
• top 26%-50% of journals in your Field of Research will receive $500
Each PhD student will also receive additional funding for research up to $3,750 for 3 years.
Eligibility
The scholarship is for PhD research students only. To be considered for a scholarship you must hold, or be currently completing:
• Master in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Material Engineering with good GPA, ideally 8.0/10 for admission and 8.5/10 for scholarship competition
• Candidates with background and interests in one of these areas are preferred: computational modelling, solid and fluid mechanics, polymers, additive manufacturing, cementitious materials, composite materials, structural optimisation, machine learning
• IELTS of at least 6.5 without any band lower than 6.0; or TOEFL overall 92 with no section less than 20. (for international student)
• Candidate with SCI-indexed journal papers will be preferred.
• Strong academic English writing skills.
Key dates and how to apply
• Application for international research scholarship is opened Now. Deadline for EoI (expression of interest) is Feb 3rd for international student and Scholarship application deadline is Feb 29th, 2020 and the scholarship result will be noticed in the early May 2020.
