postdoctoral and research technician positions in inflammation and fibrosis research (herro lab)
position summary: postdoctoral and research technician positions are available to join a multi-disciplinary team in the laboratory of dr. rana herro that is focused on control of fibrotic diseases by tnf family proteins. the research projects are to understand how several proteins related to tnf are important in fibrotic diseases in animal models of atopic dermatitis, neutrophilic asthma, food allergy, systemic sclerosis and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. emphasis will be on in vivo regulation of structural cell activity in the mouse, and include studies of human epithelial cells, fibroblasts, or smooth muscle cells.
qualifications: applicants should have a ph.d. or m.d. in immunology, and experience working with in vivo animal models of immune disease and culture of human immune-relevant cells. a background in cytokine analysis, dna/rna studies (rnaseq), flow cytometry, microscopy and histochemistry assays for in vivo tissue inflammation in animal models is essential.
