Senior Engineer / Engineer – Monomer & Organic Synthesis (Ref. 19052)
Duties:
The appointee will mainly work on the development of monomer synthesis used for different applications. Some polymer synthesis will also be included. He/she will be responsible for:
Monomer structure design, synthesis and optimization;
Polymer synthesis by means of different methods to achieve the target;
Monomer and polymer characterization and performance testing;
Scaling up process for trial production;
Collaborate with other research staff on R&D work;
Collaborate with NAMI's industrial partners on R&D work; and
Performing other duties assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:
PhD degree or above in Organic Chemistry, Organometallics, Polymer Science or related field. Fresh graduate will also be considered;
Expertise in multiple characterization techniques: NMR, FTIR, DSC/TGA, GPC;
Experience on polymer synthesis, both laboratory and industrial scale, is an added advantage;
Experience in monomer purification in industrial scale is an added advantage;
Good command of English and Chinese, articulate report writing/presentation skills as well as abilities in literature/patent search;
Hard-working and have a strong sense of ownership for his/her work is a must;
With good analytical and troubleshooting skills. Creative and passionate for innovation;
Work independently and able to communicate in teamwork.

Salary and Benefits:
We offer 5-day work, attractive remuneration package to the successful candidates. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be offered on a contract basis, renewable subject to mutual agreement and performance.
