通过对比分析长江干流上游入库水文站寸滩、乌江入库断面武隆、出库水文站宜昌以及入海水文站大通1956-2000年的多年平均以及2004-2005年实测水沙特征值、总磷含量,并结合室内吸附模拟实验,对三峡库区蓄水过程对悬浮物、总磷的截留效应,以及长江中下游由于悬浮物减少而引发的悬浮物对磷吸附和沉降能力的减弱进行了研究分析。研究结果表明:(1)三峡水库对泥沙的截留效应明显,蓄水之后的2004-2005年,宜昌断面泥沙截留率分别为65%和69%,年泥沙截留量分别为1.19亿吨和1.81亿吨;(2)三峡水库蓄水之后,三峡水库段对磷酸盐具有相当高的自净作用,从寸滩到宜昌,总磷平均浓度下降了37.5%;同时,长江中下游河段对总磷的自净作用消减的负荷远远低于入江的总磷负荷,从三峡库区出库断面宜昌到入海断面大通,总磷平均浓度上升了20.0%(3)一方面三峡水库蓄水对悬浮物和总磷产生高比例的截留,另一方面由于下游悬浮物减少而引发的总磷吸附沉降量的降低,结合长江中下游悬浮物对磷酸盐的室内吸附模拟实验结果,三峡水库蓄水对长江口总磷通量的影响量分别为38222.1吨(2004年)和35758.2吨(2005年)。
