The model assumes that an oxidation reaction takes place in which
one proton is released per liberated electron.
2.2.2. Cathode (“sink”)
The model assumes that a reduction reaction takes place in which
one proton is consumed per transferred electron. The reaction rate of
the anode equals that of the cathode.
