美国宾州州立大学招收核能材料方向全奖博士已有2人参与

大家好， 宾州州立大学核能工程系招收两名核能材料方向的全奖博士（Research Assistant）。研究方向集中在辐射与物质相互作用、辐照损伤、极端环境的材料失效等领域，研究方法结合多尺度与多物理模拟和材料显微分析。欢迎有核科学技术、材料、物理背景的同学申请。申请可以通过宾州州立大学的核工程系或材料科学系进行。2020年秋季研究生入学申请的截止时间是2019年12月15日。 欢迎感兴趣的同学邮件联系 （wangxing07@gmail.com）。 更详细的信息请参加下面的英文介绍。多谢关注：） Two Graduate Research Assistant (RA) positions are available in Dr. Xing Wang’s lab in the Ken and Mary Alice Lindquist Department of Nuclear Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University. The research in Xing’s lab focuses on radiation-material interactions, materials for Gen IV nuclear reactors, materials microscopy analysis and multiscale simulations. The goal is to understand the material behaviors under extreme conditions and facilitate the materials development for various nuclear applications. Potential research topics for the incoming Ph.D. include • Multiscale modelling of long-term material behaviors in nuclear reactors • Investigation of radiation-induced defects by combining atomistic simulations and microscopy analysis (scanning transmission electron microscope, atom probe tomography, etc.) • Characterization of material degradation process using in situ TEM • Automatic defect analysis based on high-throughput calculations and machine learning Students with a background in Nuclear Engineering/Materials Science and Engineering/Physics/Computational Sciences are highly encouraged to apply. Applicants should follow the application procedures for Penn State Graduate School. Applications for either Nuclear Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering are acceptable. Xing Wang received his B.S. degree in Engineering Physics from Tsinghua University in 2011, and his Ph.D. degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2016. He will join Penn State as an Assistant Professor in January 2020, after finishing his current postdoctoral research in Oak Ridge National Laboratory. |
