Job Description ¨C Computational/Bioinformatics Scientist A full-time Computational/bioinformatics scientist position is available at the lab of Dr. Kun Zhang at the Xavier University of Louisiana. This position is sought as part of a newly funded NIH RCMI research project in the development of novel computational approaches to understand the mechanisms of cancer and/or cancer health disparities. Please see our recent publications (Cancer Epidemiol Biomarkers Prev, 2018, PMID: 30262601; Bioinformatics, 2018, PMID: 29950003; BMC Genomics. 2018, PMID:29954330). Zhang lab also collaborates with several experimental labs at Tulane University and LSUHSC addressing diverse biological and biomedical questions (e.g. non-coding RNAs, cancer immunology, etc.) regarding cancer progression, metastasis and treatment. The successful candidate will assist the principal investigator with analysis, visualization, interpretation and organization of data for publication; assist with preparation of grant applications. He/she will also be involved in providing computational/bioinformatics solutions on collaborative projects with faculty at partner institutions, such as Tulane University and LSUHSC.
