Postdoctoral Position Available in Gene Regulation and Circadian Clocks A Postdoctoral training position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Yi Liu, Department of Physiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. One focus of our research is to investigate the role and mechanism of synonymous codon usage in regulating gene expression and protein structure (Zhou et al., 2013 Nature; Xu et al., 2013 Nature; Yu et al., 2015 Molecular Cell; Zhou et al., 2016 PNAS & 2018 Elife; Fu et al., 2017 Genes & Dev). The other focus is to study the molecular and biochemical mechanism of circadian clocks (Liu et al., 2017 Molecular Cell). Strong background in molecular biology or biochemistry is required. Experience in genomics and bioinformatics is not required but is preferred.
